Fallingwater Reopens for 2020 Season
Fallingwater reopens March 7 for its 57th tour season. In 1963, Edgar Kaufmann jr. made the generous philanthropic decision to entrust this iconic house to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, saying, “Such a place cannot be possessed. It is a work of man for man…. By its very intensity, it is a public resource, not a private indulgence.” As we continue to celebrate Fallingwater’s recent UNESCO World Heritage designation, we invite visitors from around the world to experience a place that Kaufmann believed would enrich lives, inspire generations and connect people to nature. Join us for WPC’s Members’ Day and Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barn at Fallingwater in Mill Run, Pa. Volunteer to Plant Trees This Spring
We want more trees in our region! Join with your friends and neighbors to plant trees along streets and trails, in parks or in areas where trees need to be replaced. We’ve engaged with more than 13,000 people in planting nearly 30,000 trees in neighborhoods throughout Western Pennsylvania since 2008. Learn more and volunteer with us!

Funding Available to Support Local Veggie Gardens
Are you a member of an existing community vegetable garden in Allegheny County that could use some seeds, compost, tools or technical assistance? Community food gardens managed by schools, community organizations, shelters, religious institutions and individuals can apply by April 1 for material support through WPC’s Community Garden Sustainability Fund in partnership with Grow Pittsburgh. |

Summer Science Camp for High School Students
Students entering grades 10-12 are invited to register for Experiencing Your Environment though Conservation (EYE Con), four-day summer camps at Ohiopyle State Park in Fayette Co. or Jennings Environmental Education Center in Butler Co. Participants can earn two college credits through Westminster College while experiencing in-field learning opportunities with professionals.
